We work aggressively in state and local legislatures for positive fire safety requirements, as well as watching for legislation that may be detrimental to merit shop contractors.
We are also help to bring AFSA news, events, initiatives, and training opportunities to the local level.
The local chapter will also provide terrific networking opportunities with industry leaders and manufacturer/supplier associates.
The Greater Bay Area Chapter participates in a few trade shows throughout California. The Sac Valley Trade Show in Lincoln, CA and the California Fire Chiefs Association in Buellton, CA.
Here we meet local contractors, manufacturers, distributors and authorities having jurisdiction. We spread the word of the American Fire Sprinkler Association in hopes to bring all the benefits to the merit shop fire protection industry.
CA CEU CLASSES
The Greater Bay Area Chapter holds 4 meetings per year. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are holding virtual meetings in order to still bring you updates within the industry. At these meetings you can hear from speakers about your state legislative issues, local AHJs about city and county regulations, fire protection manufacturers with new and improved fire protection products, AFSA National representatives, the Local Chapter Board of Directors and so much more.
The Greater Bay Area Chapter holds several events throughout the year.
There is an Annual Charity Golf Tournament in July with proceeds going towards the Santa Clara County Medical Burn Center through the VMC Foundation.
An Oktoberfest and Manufacturers Presentation in the Fall.
Plus a Annual Grand Prix family event in December.
